Recognizing the need to reach out to homeless veterans in their natural environment, the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Project (HVRP) provides outreach as an initial way to connect individuals who have served in the armed services with community resources with a goal of accessing affordable and securing stable jobs.

HVRP provides outreach, needs assessment, case management, employment counseling, job training/job skills enhancement, job placement, and transportation. The HVRP links homeless veterans with appropriate service providers such as a Veterans’ Representative at the Department for Employment Services, local Housing Authorities, VA Regional Office, VA Hospitals, and Vet Center.

Services provided by other providers include: shelter, transitional housing, permanent housing, food, clothing, household items, alcohol and drug abuse treatment, health care, mental health counseling/treatment, and job skills training.  Self-sufficiency is the ultimate goal for each homeless veteran engaged.
